If at all possible you will want to see the dog you are thinking about adopting interacting with another dog. This is especially important if you plan on having another dog in your home.

6. Is the dog current on all of its shots?

Make sure that you ask the person you are buying the dog from if it is current on all of its shots so you will know exactly what it needs right now.

7. Does the dog tend to bark a lot?

You will want to know if the dog you are looking into adopting is a big barker, because it could drive you crazy once you get it home. While it’s true you can train a dog not to bark all the time, it’s easier said than done.
